| So I just got back from my first college speech nationals, and it was
INTENSE, but FIRST, I must tell you why I'm not doing something more
productive. I just got through with 14 hour bus ride only to come to my
dorm to be surprised by my roommate in bed with a boy. I knew I was
tired, because I wasn't shocked, I pissed, I wanted to go to sleep, but
there is this minor distraction in the room. I know, if anyone, I
should be accustomed to boys sleeping with boys, BUT I'm not. I'm still
not use to seeing two males sleep all cuddled in the bed next to me. It
also doesn't help that me and my roommate haven't talked in oh....lets
say....about a month! Speech was such an escape from the hard hitting
reality that I have to face now that I'm back on campus, but speech
real safe the day once again because we leave AGAIN next Wednesday for
NFA nationals (which is basically the same thing we just did but in
another part of the country, and less bureaucratic).
More about AFA nationals. It was in FL,
so that means it was really hot and most of the girls didn't wear
clothes. The weather wouldn't have been half bad if we weren't wearing
business suits.
The competition was great! I've
seen some of the best stuff I've ever seen in speech, EVER! I got to
see people that I worked with at camp, and that was fun. I got to
finally experience my first AFA, which apparently is a big deal in the
college speech community. Everyone was so serious. There were so many
people there, and everyone was so good, and so pretty (okay I'll stop
being all fluffy and Meg Ryan). I got to semis in POI, and I got to
quarters with JD in duo; I'm very pleased with my results as a
freshman. I hope JD and I can do better at NFA next week.

| so SB 06's is going good. I decided to stay in Kentucky with friends
because speech nationals are next week, and I know if I went back to
Texas I would just hang out and not focus on any of my speechly duties
(by hanging out I mean eating a lot of chipolte and cold stone ice
cream).
OKAY,I smell like cooked noodles right now, and I thought I wouldn't
type this, but the smell is just really strong. I haven't even been
around noodles today. Don't you hate when you smell like a food
and you haven't had that food. I know, I know, 'Some people call
it B.O Corn,' but no, I showered throughly AND I put on this new fresh
scent deorderant I just got. I'd be pissed off if speed stick sold me
something that smelt like cooked noodles. It's not even noodles with
some type of sauce, just cooked noodles. It's a problem that I'm only
willing to complain about, but not fix.
wish me luck at nats! It's next week in Flordia.
